Q:Where do my kids go?
A: While at The Mom Village, your child will go to one of our KidsVille classrooms based on their age. There is an infant room, a toddler room, a 2 to 3 year old room, and a room for children ages 4+ and up, depending on enrollment.
Q: Can I attend a meeting to find out what it’s like before joining?
A: Yes! Please feel free to join us for a “check it out” meeting before committing to becoming a member of our Village.
Q: Where do you meet?
A: We meet from 9:00 am - 11:00 am two Fridays a month in the Multi Purpose Room at Community Church. Friday meetings are based around our local school schedules, to the best of our abilities.
Q: What happened to MomCo/Mops?
A: The Mom Community (MomCo), part of MOPS, International, still exists and while we think they are an excellent mom’s group, we have found our own Fond du Lac chapter could no longer financially maintain our membership. The cost of being a local chapter of MomCo involves a group membership fee as well as a per-mom fee. To ask our local moms to pay these costs on top of childcare fees, local membership fees, and food costs was becoming too prohibitive. With much prayer, discussion, and support from Community Church, we made the decision to part ways with MOPS, International and create our own mom’s organization, The Mom Village. Returning members will find that 90% of the look of our meetings will remain the same. Because our local MomCo/MOPS group has been crafting their own meeting style since prior to 2000, we have never relied on the videos or devotions offered by the National/International group. This is a large part of the reason we chose to create our own group, The Mom Village. We believe our new mom members will like it as well!
Q: Can women who are not members at Community join The Mom Village?
A: Yes! The Mom Village is open to women from all Christian denominations and women exploring their faith for the first time. We want to meet moms exactly where they are in their walk with Jesus.
Q: Is there a membership fee to join The Mom Village?
A: Yes, the membership fee to join The Mom Village for the 2026-2027 session is $100 for a Mom with childcare (includes care for and up to two children; additional children can be added at $5 per child) or $40 for a Mom without childcare.
Q: What are membership fees used for?
A: Membership fees are used to cover the cost of our KidsVille programming, meeting supplies, and guest speakers.
Q: Are there scholarships available?
A: Partial scholarships are available for moms experiencing financial hardship. Please contact us via the contact us form below and your confidential request will be forwarded to our lead mentor mom.
Q: Do I have to register with childcare if I’m only planning to bring my child to certain meetings?
A: Drop-in childcare rate for children not included in annual registration is $5 per session per child. This most commonly applies to children accompanying their mom to a meeting while on a school break. We ask that you please register your drop-in child no later than 48 hours in advance so we can plan childcare staffing levels accordingly. Registration for drop-in care can be found on the specific meeting page you are looking for care.
