Going Deeper Questions
  1. A. W. Tozer says: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” What comes into your mind when you think about God? Make a list.

  2. Matthew Barrett says: “[God’s] knowledge is causal, not merely contemplative, like ours. He is no spectator. He is the Creator, the one who determines all things.” Do agree or disagree? Why? Why not? How does Isaiah 46:9-10 contribute to your answer?

  3. Augustine said: “God does not know all creatures because they exist; they exist because he knows them.” What do you think Augustine meant by that?

  4. God knows everything. Wayne Grudem says: “God is always fully aware of everything…He always knows all things at once. He knows the end from the beginning, and he never learns and never forgets anything.” How is God holy (set apart) compared to humans?

  5. Have you thought about the fact that God never learns (because He already knows everything)? How does that affect the way you view God?

  6. Read Psalm 139. What does this Psalm teach you about God? What does it teach you about people? What will you do about it?

  7. We can respond to God’s omniscience by:-Humbling ourselves before Him (Prov. 1:7; Psalm 110:10)-Seeking to know Jesus -Resting in God’s omniscience (Read Psalm 46, especially v. 10)Which of these three will you apply to your life this week? How?

  8. Take time to pray now and thank God for His omniscience.
