God has given our church a clear and compelling vision—helping more people become wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ—and we have been pursuing that vision for 25 years.

What does it mean to be “wholehearted”?

The Bible compares the Christian life to a growing tree and tells us that as we grow in our faith, our lives, like a tree, should bear fruit, and the quality of the fruit reveals the quality of the tree (Matthew 7:17-20). So what fruit should be seen in the life of authentic Christians? What “indicators” should be easily recognized?

At Community Church, we have gathered together the Bible’s teaching on this and formed the acronym “HEARTED” to articulate the marks of increasing spiritual maturity. We would encourage you to use this tool to evaluate and assess your own walk with the Lord a couple of times each year.

Wholehearted

If you've taken a few minutes to read through the seven components, then you are beginning to understand what we mean by "wholehearted." It's a depth of character and quality of life that exalts our Lord Jesus and glorifies God the Father. And we believe mature, wholehearted followers of Christ will have an increasing desire for this kind of life.
